WoW! What can i say? Your site combines my lifelong interests; Spiritual, Weather, Astronomy, and Radio....i am retired from USN where i was a Radioman back in the days of HF communications, where we would constantly "dial up" day and night freqs to keep our radio teleypes "qrk5"....It would have been nice to have your Tropospheric Ducting Forecasts Maps back in the day! Although i am not an amatuer radio operator i still have a passing interest inthe feild....

The photos section were simply awesome! The Hale-Bopp picture is one of the best that i have seen...The weather forecasting tools are very comprehensive and informative....i salute you both and may God's eternal Peace and Blessings continue for you all! (i am from the south; NC)

Kindest Regards,
Chris Boyles

P.S. int qsl?

Great photos! I'm slowly getting into astrophotography myself , but have not purchased a digital SLR yet. I recently purchased a Megrez 90 Apo to go with my 5 inch MAK and 12 inch Dob. I have just taken some "through the eyepiece" shots of the planets , moon etc. The skies are fairly good in Caistor Centre on my farm . Had you checked out other SLR's ? Keep up the good work!!

hi Kerry,

thanks for your little message in my guestbook.
I just reciprocated the visit.
you have a nice website with wonderful images there! your skill in processing astronomical images has made great strides in rather short time and the pics of storms and clouds are most impressive.
but my least favourite would be this one here:
http://www.weatherandsky.com/LakeViews/IMG_0725.JPG
that is really gorgeous!
I will drop in once in a while and see what is new.
best wishes from Austria!

Helo Kerry-Anne. My name is Manie and I live in South Africa. What a beautifull web site ! And then there are really good Astro Images TOO ! Astro-imaging was designed for masochists, as far as I can tell, but then, it is the ULTIMATE challenge. This challenge you seem to have mastered in no unscertain terms. Well done Kerry. I notice you once used a 300D, I still use this camera and I think (for now at least) it is good equipment. I must conquer this camera first..... were you satisfied with yours ? Is the 40D really worth the extra money ? Also you have an Equinox 80mm. One of the scopes I can get here in S.A. at reasonable price, so it seems it is also OK and I can spend a little money on that, true ? Thank you for sharing your images, they are excellent !

Kerry Ann,
Your photographs are inspirational!! I work at a college in Norther California in the robotic observatory, and I have directed many students to you site to get inspired to keep shooting the stars. They have reported back to me that they wish they had time in the summer to shoot some of the things you have captured. Your site is a blessing. Thank you and may God Bless you with clear skies and warm friends.

Hi Kerry,

The APOD image that I just saw was simply amazing!

I said to myself...geez....I live in the Belleville area and a few miles north alows me to see skies like that!, I'll try that on my lil Canon PowerShot A550!....yup....then the tears welled up in my eyes once I saw your equipment.... but I did take part in an Astro project in 1997 with Chinese Astronomers (I needed to remotely install IRC on their pc's and then teach them how to use it...that was my claim to fame and finally the project made it in Science Magazine and is mentioned in Digital Library for Physics and Astronomy --->

http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1997IAUJD..20E..11K

... I was Team Canada! lol... I have always had an interest in Astronomy and have bookmarked your site for frequent perusal.... take care! and do keep in touch when you have a moment...

Re: your APOD photo composite. I understand rotating exposures to simulate a clock drive. But how did you suppress the horizon then? Wouldn't it rotate backwards?

Kerry-Ann, thank you very much for providing such beautiful photographs of God's creation! I just discovered your work through the APOD site and was thrilled to see "The Milky Way over Ontario" photo! You really captured the majesty and wonder of the sky and lake.

My mom grew up in Fort Frances, Ontario and this helps me to imagine what it must have been like for her to be at Rainy Lake and look up to see the pure beauty of the Milky Way in such pristine surroundings. While I know it isn't the same location, I imagine they are similar with how my mom has described her childhood wonders.

Thanks and warm regards from Pennsylvania!
